The Fox era of X-Men movies came to an end when Disney acquired Fox – but that acquisition opened the door to the X-Men characters being able to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That merging of worlds has already begun, with cameos from Professor X and Beast in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Marvels, respectively, building up to the multiversal insanity of Deadpool & Wolverine.
