Code Geass made its official return in June 2024 after sixteen years with its new installment Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture. The series, directed by Goro Taniguchi, focuses on Sakuya Sakuragi and her quest for vengeance amidst the unrest between Japanese and Britannians.

While the sequel didn’t seem promising to most fans, the unfolding of events in the latest episode hooks the viewers well. However, the extent of Sakuya’s actions including her betrayal and geassing Ash, weren’t the only actions that shattered the last remaining glimmer of hope for him but something else entirely as several fans noted.
