Richard Simmons’ Cause of Death Was ‘Complications From Recent Falls and Heart Disease,’ His Brother Says

Fitness guru Richard Simmons’ cause of death has been revealed.
His brother Lenny Simmons told People Magazine in a statement Wednesday that his death was “accidental” and caused by “complications from recent falls and heart disease.”
“This morning, Richard Simmons’ brother Lenny, received a call from the L.A. Coroner’s office. The coroner informed Lenny that Richard’s death was accidental due to complications from recent falls and heart disease as a contributing factor. The toxicology report was negative other than medication Richard had been prescribed. The family wishes to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support during this time of great loss,” Simmons’ publicist Tom Estey shared in a statement to People.
Simmons died at his home in Los Angeles on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the age of 76. It was one day after his birthday.
