After premiering at Fantastic Fest last fall, the romantic thriller Strange Darling has quickly become one of the buzziest indies of the summer. Starring Kyle Gallner (Scream) and Willa Fitzgerald as a couple whose one-night stand turns into something sinister, it’s a twisty, beautifully shot, and exquisitely fun time at the movies.

We at FandomWire got to speak with Strange Darling writer-director Jt Mollner and producer/director of photography Giovanni Ribisi (whom you might recognize as an actor from films like Avatar and Lost in Translation) about the film, its structure and style, and Ribisi making the jump from being an actor to becoming a cinematographer.
