Live-Action Adaptations Announced for Two Acclaimed Video Game Franchises

Two action-adventure video game franchises are getting live-action adaptations in the future. Per THR, the trend of video game adaptations continues as a partnership between Remedy Entertainment and Annapurna Pictures is set to produce live-action television shows and films for both the Alan Wake and Control franchises.
Hector Sanchez, president of interactive and new media at the Los Angeles-based Annapurna Entertainment spoke about the collaborative deal, saying, This deal with Remedy isnt just about adapting great games its about breaking new ground in how companies can collaborate. By backing Remedys move toward self-publishing, were putting our faith in their vision. Annapurnas founder Megan Ellison also spoke on the wide reach of the deal and the different forms of content it will produce, saying, Today people fall in love with characters and universes, not formats, and were excited to leverage Remedys beloved, immersive narratives in these new mediums.
