Adam and Barbara Maitland have a subtle return in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and their brief and unique cameo perfectly honors their original Beetlejuice story. Adam and Barbara Maitland were the protagonists of the original 1988 Beetlejuice, with the Tim Burton film focusing on them attempting to haunt a family out of the house that they lived in before they were ghosts.
