Daisy Ridley’s career has shot up to reach the stars mostly thanks to her portrayal of Rey in the ‘Star Wars’ sequel trilogy, which revitalized the franchise for a new generation. She made her debut as Rey, a scavenger on the desert planet Jakku who becomes central to the battle against the First Order.

The sequel trilogy however wasn’t without its criticism as plenty of people were bothered by Ridley’s character and its Mary Sue nature.

Ridley struggled with the franchise’s reception and she admitted that all the criticism has taken a toll on her health as well, but the actress is ready to return, now older, wiser, and more experienced, as a standalone movie is currently being in development under a working title “New Jedi Order.”
