Squid Game Season 2 Will Feature the Darker Side of Gi-hun

Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk teased Gi-huns storyline in the highly-anticipated second season of the popular Netflix series. For his acclaimed work on the South Korean drama, Hwang won his first Emmy Award in 2022 for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.
During a recent interview with EW, Hwang confirmed that fans will see Lee Jung-jaes Gi-hun as adifferent person in Squid Game Season 2, after developing a "huge amount of survivor's guilt" since winning the titular brutal game. "In Season 2, you will not be getting the foolish and clumsy, or childish at times Gi-hun that you saw in the beginning," Hwang said. "You will get to see a much heavier, darker side of Gi-hun."
