Henry Winkler on the Moment He Knew Robin Williams Was a “Genius” at His ‘Happy Days’ Audition

Henry Winkler is looking back at one of the first moments he met Robin Williams, and it’s definitely a memorable one.

The actor recently made an appearance on the Fake Doctors, Real Friends With Zach and Donald podcast and recalled Williams’ Happy Days audition for the role of Mork, an alien from the planet Ork who visits Earth, after the original actor left the show.

“When Robin came to audition, now it’s Wednesday. We start Monday morning at 10 on the soundstage. That is at, 9, we read, 10, we’re on the soundstage,” Winkler said. “Nobody wanted to play this alien from outer space.”
