‘The Diplomat’ Season 2′ trailer: Allison Janney is ready to make Keri Russell’s life hell

On Tuesday, Netflix dropped the trailer for Season 2 of “The Diplomat,” which offers a first look at Janney’s new character, Vice President Grace Penn. Season 2 of the Netflix political thriller picks up after the explosive (literally) Season 1 cliff-hanger when a car bomb detonated in the middle of London. The trailer reveals that Kate and her husband, Hal (Rufus Sewell), survived the blast — and the latter is, per Netflix, “very much involved” as Kate soon learns that the attack came from inside the British government.
Here is the official logline: “As Kate chases the truth, her only real ally is her almost-ex-husband Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell), very much alive, and very much involved.
