The Real Reason That One-Punch Man S-Class Hero Changed His Name Is Actually Hilarious, But Western Fans Missed It

One-Punch Man introduces a wide range of lovable, weird, or just plain awkward characters to its continuously growing superhero roster. This includes characters far beyond simply Saitama, with quirky characters like King or Mumen Rider being fan favorites in their respective rights. However, as the series proceeds, certain heroes undergo rebranding to change their images. Isamu, known as Child Emperor in One-Punch Man, changed his name in recent chapters for a hilarious reason, and his colleagues are still trying to adjust over a dozen chapters later.

Child Emperor was one of the foremost S-Class members of the Hero Association, being ranked 5, which placed him in incredible company. However, even a prodigious superhero lauded for his brilliance is still just a kid at the end of the day, easily goaded by his peers for a truly unfortunate second meaning in its original Japanese name.
