New Watson Series Based on Sherlock Holmes Sidekick Gets Premiere Date
Watson has a premiere date. CBS has announced that the upcoming Sherlock Holmes adaptation will premiere early next year, following the AFC Championship game.
Per Deadline, Watson, starring Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson, is set to premiere on CBS on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025, at approximately 10 p.m. Et (depending on the game's end time). The medical drama series will then return to its regular time slot on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 10:00 p.m. Et/Pt. Inspired by the characters from Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes mysteries, Watson takes place six months after the death of the titular character's friend and partner Sherlock Holmes at the hands of Moriarty. Watson was created by Craig Sweeny, who previously worked on CBS' other Sherlock Holmes series, the Jonny Lee Miller-led Elementary.
