'I'm Terrified': Uzumaki's Spiral Curse Comes to Life in Horrifyingly Realistic Livestream
Thanks to its newly released series adaptation, Junji Ito's iconic horror franchise Uzumaki has spiraled its way back into the anime scene. To honor the work, a talented Instagram artist decided to recreate one of Uzumaki's most unforgettable sequences.
On Oct. 10, an Instagram user called "Majensta" unveiled their haunting cosplay of Uzumaki's Azami Kurotani -- the character who famously has her face and eye socket consumed by the spiral curse. By utilizing "practical" effects, in addition to a vintage filter, Majensta presents herself with a bulging left eye surrounded by a rapidly spinning spiral pattern. Later, they also posted a tutorial video showcasing many of the techniques used for their cosplay. As of Oct. 14, the original post has accumulated over 5,500 likes.
