Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Reedus revealed how the original plan for Daryl Dixon to unite Daryl and Carol was for him to still be imprisoned when she found him. However, the actor wanted the two to be on equal ground when they found each other, while also having it feel surreal that they were finally reunited.
