“I’d been constantly torn about it”: For Rumiko Takahashi, 1 Inuyasha Character Was an Absolute Dilemma While Writing the Ending
Before the Isekai genre took over the medium of anime in recent times, Inuyasha was the sole Isekai in the 2000s and one of its main progenitors of the genre. Even if one hasn’t watched the series entirely, fans might have at least heard about names “Inuyasha” and “Kagome” floating around at conventions. The story is jam-packed with action and adventure, combined with intense romance and friendship.

For anime fans, Inuyasha didn’t end until the Final Act, which came out only in 2009, 5 years after the original anime concluded in 2005. This is one of the few shonen series that actually pulled off the ending in line with fan expectations. Sure, the series may be long and sometimes draggy, but the conclusion couldn’t be more satisfying.
