Tite Kubo Went Against His Own Morals to Make Sure Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Didn’t Get the Same Treatment as the Rest of His Anime

Bleach is often met with the criticism of it being a weak series. Rather, it is an uncrowned king among the big three. In most aspects, Tite Kubo’s magnum opus outclasses other shonen series. This is especially true with its compelling themes and stunning visuals. However, it took several painstaking efforts by the mangaka to avoid a huge blunder. This included breaking his own rule.

Unlike the previous anime, Kubo made sure that the sequel wouldn’t mess up. In ensuring authenticity and faithful adaptation, his involvement in the process was pivotal. By doing so, the mangaka went against his morals and rules. This paid off compared to his previous series which suffered an unsavory and indelible closure.
