Robert Fripp and Toyah Celebrate Halloween with Cover of David Bowie’s “Scary Monsters”: Watch
Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox offered up a Halloween edition of their “Sunday Lunch” series over the weekend. The video features the married couple performing a cover of the David Bowie classic “Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps).”
The King Crimson guitarist and the new wave singer have mostly been posting archival “Sunday Lunch” episodes in recent months, but the Bowie cover is a brand new performance. In the video, both Fripp and Toyah wear makeup inspired by the Scary Monsters album cover, with Toyah looking eerily similar to Bowie.

Aside from the makeup, Toyah sports a black blazer with nothing underneath, singing the 1980 song as Fripp plays guitar. The video wraps up with Robert saying in a creepy voice, “Welcome to Toyah and Robert’s scary ‘Sunday Lunch,'” with Toyah playfully kissing the prog-rock pioneer on the side of his head.
