In plenty of Japanese anime series, family means everything, but not always for the better. On the plus side, anime viewers can point to delightful families like the Forgers in Spy x Family or the Komis in Komi Can't Communiate as loving and stable households, but other family units or family clans are the dark opposite. More than a few anime families either have twisted rules, suffer serious misfortune, or both.

For either or both reasons, anime fans would not want to be a part of these bloodlines, either being born into that family or marrying into it. Such families might have some perks, such as superpowers or wealth, but the family's dysfunction and/or misfortune would make it miserable to be a member.
