Joan Vassos self-eliminated from The Golden Bachelor and became the first Golden Bachelorette. Along the way to her finale, she rejected 22 men, and one self-eliminated, so now she knows how GerryTurner felt. But who was her final choice, and will they keep on going strong?
Contestants Were Competing Against A Late Husband
Joan loved her husband John deeply and after he passed away, it took her a few years to decide that it was okay to look for love again. Many people felt that Kesley Anderson’s dad, Mark might be the one for her. However, she sent him home as she had plenty of others to choose from.
It soon became obvious that the contestants in the first Golden Bachelorette were not only competing against each other but also against the late husband of Joan Vassos. And that seemed to influence fan favorite, Pascal Ibgui who sent himself home.
