Obscura have announced their new album, A Sonication, arriving February 7th via Nuclear Blast Records. The opening track and lead single “Silver Linings” is out now.

The German death metal outfit is kicking off the album with a ferocious opening salvo, with blazing-speed riffage and a rhythmic arrangement that’s exasperatingly complex. Fans of the band’s technical virtuosity have much to dissect here, though the song truly ascends when the backing melodies come in, adding an entirely new layer of textures to the soundstage.

“With ‘Silver Linings’ we present you the first track of our brand new album A Sonication, which sees the light of day in early 2025,” declared band mastermind Steffen Kummerer via a press statement. “Supporting the new record, Obscura will embark on the first leg of a world tour in February next year.
