Eminem‘s mom Debbie Nelson has died.
The rap icon’s mother passed away on Monday night (December 2) in St. Joseph, Missouri following a battle with advanced lung cancer, TMZ reports.
Her diagnosis was first revealed in September, and the prognosis was not good, suggesting that she did not have long to live.

Eminem had a rocky relationship with his mother for years, accusing her of negligence and abuse and calling her out on tracks like “Cleanin’ Out My Closet.” She sued her son in 1999, later writing the 2007 tell-all My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem.
