In the Wake of Look Back, Tatsuki Fujimoto Has Another Anime Movie Ripe for the Making

Studio Durian's Look Back, based on the original manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, was 2024's best anime film. The coming-of-age story about two aspiring manga artists resonated with creatives throughout the anime community and beyond, garnering praise from audiences and critics alike. Following a successful international theatrical release, Look Back has been announced as eligible for the Oscars in the Best Animated Feature category. Fans of Fujimoto's work, however, know that the enigmatic mangaka has another story that might be even better suited for a movie adaptation.
Following the completion of the first part of the manga series that made Fujimoto famous, Chainsaw Man, the artist released two one-shots that made some noise in the manga reading community. The first being Look Back, a celebration of art and those who create it, and the second, which acts as the former's spiritual successor, titled Goodbye, Eri.
