
New ‘Meet the Parents’ in the Works With Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller Returning for Universal

Universal Pictures is ready to enter the circle of trust again with a new Meet the Parents movie in the works.
Original franchise stars Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner are in early talks to return for a new film. John Hamburg, who worked on the screenplay for the 2000 original and the two subsequent sequels, is writing the script. A director has not yet been announced.
Producers include De Niro and Jane Rosenthal for Tribeca Productions, Jay Roach for Delirious Media and Stiller and John Lesher for Red Hour Films. Universal’s executive vp of production development Matt Reilly and director of production development Jacqueline Garrell are overseeing the project for the studio.
