Max releases premiere date and new trailer for medical drama ‘The Pitt’
Max is getting procedural next month. On Thursday, the streaming service set a premiere date and released a new trailer for the “ER”-esque medical drama “The Pitt.”
The series follows a single 15-hour shift hour-by-hour in the emergency room of a Pittsburgh hospital on a particularly crazy day. There are 52 patients in the waiting room by 7 a.m., and it’s a class of med students’ first day on the job. The doctor in charge is Michael “Robby” Robinavitch (“ER” veteran Noah Wyle), who is great at his job but not dealing with his emotions. It’s the anniversary of his mentor’s death, and he’s stuffed his feelings down for the past five years.
“150,000 people die every day in the world,” he tells a med student who just lost a patient. “Today you got one of them. And we’re gonna get more of them before the shift is over.
