Film News: Chicago Film Critics Association 2024 Best is ‘The Brutalist’

Chicago – The incredible 20th Century journey of a German architect, escaping from the Holocaust and coming to America, was named Best Film for 2024 by the Chicago Film Critics Association at their annual awards banquet on December 11th. “The Brutalist” also was also honored in the Best Actor category, for Adrien Brody. Designations were given in 19 categories.

Other major recipients included Best Actress Marianne Jean-Baptiste for “Hard Truths,” Best Supporting Actress Natasha Lyonne for “His Three Daughers,” Best Supporting Actor Kieran Culkin for “A Real Pain” and Best Director for RaMell Ross of “Nickel Boys.” Other awards highlights included “Flow” for Best Animated Feature, “No Other Land” for Best Documentary, “All We Imagine as Light” as Best Foreign Language Film and RaMell Ross as recipient of the Milos Stehlik Breakthrough Filmmaker Award.
