According to Deadline, the casting call went out asking for children who would be between the ages of 9 and 11 by April 2025.

The casting notice noted that they were looking for “inclusive, diverse casting” and wanted “qualified performers, without regard to ethnicity, sex, disability, race, sexual orientation and gender identity.”

Two videos were requested from those auditioning: one video of the young actors performing a short story or a poem, and another asking to describe themselves and “a family member, friend or pet that you are particularly close to.”
