
Virgin Music Group to Acquire Downtown Music Group in $775M Deal

Virgin Music Group, which is owned by Universal Music Group, has struck a deal to acquire Downtown Music Group Holdings for $775 million.
The acquisition is expected to close in the second half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals.
Downtown Music Group Holdings was originally established as a music publishing company in 2007, and now has more than 20 offices across six continents with divisions in artist and label services, distribution, royalty and financial services and music publishing. Its business include Fuga, Downtown Artist & Label Services, Curve Royalties, CD Baby, Downtown Music Publishing and Songtrust.
