The first arc of the final saga in One Piece, the Egghead Island arc, was a banger in almost every aspect. Be it the uncovering of some major mysteries or the battles against the Five Elders, Egghead proved its worth and will surely go down as one of the best arcs in One Piece. However, the biggest twist of the arc would probably be Kizaru defecting from the World Government.

For those who don’t know, Kizaru has either decided or already has been against the decisions of the World Government and the Marines. This was first hinted at when Kizaru wavered against the orders that he was given by his superiors to kill Vegapunk and destroy Egghead Island. But during the conclusion of the series, Oda seemingly confirmed it.

Nevertheless, Kizaru’s defecting post-Egghead was an outcome that a lot of One Piece fans already anticipated.
