Although Obi-Wan Kenobi was initially billed as a limited series, multiple hints have been dropped that Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen are returning to Star Wars soon, either in a surprise season 2 of that show or in an entirely unknown project. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are both among Star Wars' best characters and, together, they comprise one of Star Wars' best duos. McGregor and Christen have both therefore become incredibly beloved in the franchise.

Because of that, their reunion in Obi-Wan Kenobi season 1 was met with great fanfare. While Star Wars clearly wants to move away from the Skywalker Saga, the fact remains: Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen will always draw audiences in, and the franchise really can't afford to drop them.
