According to Eric Kripke’s 2007 interview, the showrunner mentioned how he had nonchalantly wiped out an entire group of young characters from Supernatural as he got bored with their storyline. Although they had initially planned to show the characters’ deaths midway through season 3, Kripke’s bold swing simply erased them by the season 2 finale.
