Power Rangers Reboot Rumors Emerge After Netflix Attempt Fizzled Out
A new report indicates that a Power Rangers movie is in development after Netflix and Hasbro Entertainment shelved plans for an interconnected film and TV franchise reboot. The film will reportedly be a reboot completely unconnected to Netflix's scrapped incarnation.
Industry insider Daniel Richtman first reported that the Power Rangers reboot was in early development at Paramount, and scooper @Jinsakuu took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to elaborate on the status of the potential project. Besides confirming that the movie was entirely different from Netflix's reboot, @Jinsakuu disclosed that Hasbro and Paramount had been in negotiations for a few months and had recently made good progress, with Paramount/Skydance expected to retain the media rights for Power Rangers. Talk of a complete franchise buyout is being entertained, with both parties open to the prospect if an agreement on the right price is reached.
