It may not seem obvious, but The Lorax and the Unabomber have become connected in a new, surprising way — and it’s through a man who has taken the Internet by storm. According to an article from LitHub, Luigi Mangione had a prolific GoodReads account, and his interests were many and diverse.

It's almost completely unbelievable, but Mangione had logged and reviewed both Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax — which would inspire an animated movie adaptation some 50 years after it was published in 1971 — and the manifesto of Ted Kaczynski, better known as the Unabomber. Most of Mangione’s reads are philosophical or political diatribes, such as Kaczynski’s work, Industrial Society and Its Future, yet Dr. Seuss’ environmental fable is an outlier in that it’s one of very few children’s books included on his list.
