Back in 2009, Fox spilled her unfiltered thoughts to Wonderland magazine, calling Bay “a nightmare to work with.” She compared his on-set demeanor to that of Napoleon and said, “He wants to be like Hitler on his sets.” While she noted his “hopelessly awkward” charm off-camera, the damage was already done. Despite Fox’s direct shots at Bay, it wasn’t his call to fire her—or so he claimed. The real hammer came down from Transformers executive producer Steven Spielberg. According to Bay’s 2011 GQ interview, Spielberg didn’t mince words: “Fire her right now.” However, Spielberg later denied involvement in the decision, leaving fans wondering who truly pulled the plug.
