Anitaku & Anime Piracy Streaming Sites Worth Over 100 Million Visits Face New Court Subpoena Pressure

A subpoena request filed by the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (Ace) has targeted several extremely popular anime piracy sites, including Anitaku, which has over 100 million monthly visitors.
Via Torrent Freak, the anti-piracy organization Ace has filed court subpoena requests against Cloudflare and Tonic, the latter of which operates the ".to" domains often seen on piracy websites. Ace consists of media giants like Netflix, Amazon and Sony Pictures Entertainment, numbering over 50 companies in total. The list of targets in the subpoena request includes some of the world's biggest piracy sites, including Anitaku, better known as Gogoanime, with 158 million visits in November alone. The subpoena filings aren't only targeted toward English-speaking viewers either. Major Chinese-language piracy sites "gimy.ai" and "chinaq.tv" are also listed, boasting 43 million and 30.2 million monthly visits. In addition to dramas and films, both have a variety of anime, including Fall 2024 and the latest Winter 2025 titles.
