Charles Xavier's dream has been the central foundation for the X-Men for over sixty years, and while his fall from grace was devastating for mutantkind, it hit Wolverine harder than most. Logan has never handled betrayal well, but his complex history with Xavier makes the X-Men founder's transgressions so hard to get past that Wolverine is prepared to kill him for his wrongdoings.

Wolverine joined the X-Men in Giant-Size X-Men #1 – written by Len Wein, with Dave Cockrum – and quickly became one of the most fervent believers in Charles Xavier's dream that mutants and humans can coexist.

The franchise's Krakoan Era brought many betrayals for the adamantium-laced mutant, including his teammate Beast, but Xavier's turn was by far the worst. His decision to (seemingly) kill humans in an attempt to save mutant lives was so severe it left Wolverine ready to kill him.
