Stephen King Is Working on a New ‘Talisman’ Novel Based on an Idea by Peter Straub

Stephen King is “beavering away” on a third novel in The Talisman saga, the author revealed on Threads.
Published in 1984, The Talisman was co-written by King and Peter Straub. The bestselling horror writers reunited to collaborate on a sequel to the horror fantasy epic, Black House, in 2011.
Straub passed away from complications of a broken hip in 2022, but not before conceiving a concept for a new installment.
“Peter Straub had a terrific idea before passing away,” King shares. “Dual credit, as on The Talisman and Black House. But as always, I can never be sure a book will be done until it is. This one has a long way to go.”
King confirms that he is “absolutely” channeling his inner Straub while writing.
The Talisman follows 12-year-old Jack Sawyer on a quest into a parallel world known as the Territories in search of a powerful talisman in order to save his mother from certain death.
