Deepwater Horizon is an American biographical disaster film released in 2016. It is an adaptation of The New York Times article, "Deepwater Horizon's Final Hours" written by David Barstow, David Rohde, and Stephanie Saul.

It has a very powerful narrative based on true events depicting heroism that arose in the time of a deadly crisis. As the name suggests, Deepwater Horizon is all about how the oil drilling rig, aptly named “Deepwater Horizon,” exploded in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, leading to the largest oil spill in the history of the US. This movie is an intense thriller that shows how a blowback at the recently drilled well threatened to destroy the rig along with everyone on it.
