Eiichiro Oda Confirms Jujutsu Kaisen’s Junya Fukuda As One Piece Manga’s New Editor
Eiichiro Oda has confirmed a significant change in One Piece manga’s editorial team.
Junya Fukuda, the editor behind Jujutsu Kaisen and Black Clover, will succeed Kaito Anayama as the new editor for One Piece. This marks the 15th editorial change in the series’ history.
Oda’s announcement came via Viz’s Mangaka Musings in the latest Weekly Shonen Jump (2025 Issue 9), where he shared a brief message: “I got a new editor! Thanks for everything, Anayama-san! Welcome to the team, Fukuda-san!“
Anayama served as editor from February 2023 to January 2025, following the departure of Yuuji Iwasaki.
As the 14th editor, Anayama played was responsible for guiding One Piece through the significant Egghead arc and the early stages of the ongoing Elbaf arc.
One Piece manga series, written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda, has been serialized in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump since July 1997.
