
Alabama Shakes Confirm Comeback, Tease First New Music in Eight Years

Alabama Shakes reunited last year for their first appearance on stage together in seven years, and now, they’ve teased their official comeback with photos of them working on new music.
“Working on some exciting stuff!,” the Instagram caption reads, with photos depicting the band — Brittany Howard, Zac Cockrell, and Heath Fogg — crafting the follow-up to 2015’s Sound & Color in a studio with producer Shawn Everett. See Alabama Shakes’ Instagram post below.
The group hasn’t formally released a new song since their Grammy-winning rendition of “Killer Diller Blue” for the soundtrack of The American Epic sessions in 2018. Shortly after, Alabama Shakes went on hiatus as Howard and Fogg began to focus on their solo work.
