
Issa Rae Says ‘Insecure’ Fans Still Ask for Series Finale Reshoot: “People Are Really Mad”

Issa Rae says some Insecure fans are still unhappy with how the show ended, even years later.
The Emmy-winning series, which ended in December 2021 following a five-season fun, followed the everyday and sometimes awkward experiences of modern-day Black women. Rae not only co-created Insecure but she also starred in it.
The show concluded with Rae’s character Issa Dee rekindling her romantic relationship with Lawrence Walker (Jay Ellis). However, some fans weren’t too happy with this renewed romance as the pair had an on-again, off-again relationship throughout the series. Lawrence had also fathered a child with another woman, Condola Hayes (Christina Elmore), around the same time that he and Issa were discussing a future together.
