Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has its roots in many learning philosophical moments. Of these, death and loss are a huge part. Yet, the series has managed to keep its sense of danger when the characters are in a lurch.

However, there seem to be no indications of the deaths of the humans against the demons. Especially so that the series would actually resort to killing off its main characters, who are at the core of the narrative.
Usually, many series lose their appeal and the sense of thrill in the battle when the protagonist and his group manage to always get out of troublesome battles and situations without suffering substantial losses.
