After the success of Arrow and The Flash, the CW dipped its toes into the Supergirl property, and even though the show itself fumbled the ball with its latter seasons, one thing it got right was the casting, at least for the most part. From Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl to Jon Cryer’s Lex Luthor, the casting for the show was arguably some of the strongest in the Arrowverse.

However, unlike his peers, Cryer didn’t have to undergo a rigorous acting process, which had nothing to do with his Two and a Half Men fame but one of his earlier works alongside Christopher Reeve.
