Sinha shared that he first came up with the idea for Ra.One back in 2005 and started writing it the next year. However, it wasn’t until Shah Rukh Khan announced the film at a press event in Berlin that things really kicked off. Sinha recalled being bombarded with calls for eight straight hours, unable to confirm the news. When he finally got in touch with Khan, the actor simply said, “Why hide it?”
