'I Wish He Had Written the Script': Green Lantern Director Addresses Ryan Reynolds' Jokes About the Movie
Ryan Reynolds is now automatically linked to the role of Deadpool, which he has played in different forms for over a decade and a half. However, in between his commitment to the Merc with a Mouth, Reynolds played a different superhero in 2011's Green Lantern.
Reynolds first played a different version of Deadpool in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but it wasn't until 2016 that he got his own standalone film the way he had envisioned it. In 2011, he took a role as DC Comics character Hal Jordan/ Green Lantern but the movie wasn't the success Reynolds had hoped, and has spent the last decade poking fun at the movie. Speaking to Polygon, director Martin Campbell revealed his honest thoughts on Reynolds' ongoing mockery of the film.
