Third ‘Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199’ Film, ‘Gunjō no Asteroid,’ Reveals Trailer and Visual Ahead of April Premiere

Bandai Namco Filmworks just gave us a fresh look at Gunjō no Asteroid (Ultramarine Asteroid), the third movie in the Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199 (Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199) series. This is the latest entry in the ongoing Space Battleship Yamato remakes.
A special Blu-ray edition of the film will launch on April 11, the same day it hits theaters. If you’re willing to wait, regular Blu-ray and DVD versions will be available on June 25.
This isn’t just a trilogy—there are seven movies planned for the full story. Crunchyroll is streaming the project under the name Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199.
The first film, Kuro no Shinryaku (Dark Invasion), debuted on July 19, pulling in 58.8 million yen in its first three days. The second movie, Sekijitsu no Shutsugeki (The Assault of the Burning Sun), followed on November 22, earning 64.1 million yen in the same time frame.
