Now that Amazon Owns James Bond, Jeff Bezos Is Asking Us Who We’d Like to See as the Next Bond

One of the richest men on the planet has just taken the reins of one of cinema’s most iconic franchises, and he’s wasting no time getting involved.

After Amazon MGM Studios seized full creative control of the James Bond series from longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, Jeff Bezos decided to jump in himself—by asking the internet who should be the next 007.

‘Who’d you pick as the next Bond?‘ Bezos posted, attaching a screenshot of the BBC article announcing Amazon’s takeover. The response? A flood of names, some reasonable, some ridiculous, but all raising eyebrows. Henry Cavill, James McAvoy, Tom Cruise, and Theo James were among the most mentioned.

Cavill, in particular, has been a fan favorite for years, having previously auditioned in 2005 when Daniel Craig ultimately won the role. Back then, director Martin Campbell praised his acting but thought he looked too young.
