The following contains spoilers for Sakamoto Days Season 1, Episode 7, “Jurassic Bastard,” streaming now on Netflix.

Sakamoto Days recently did an entire episode on the glum life of a minor supporting character named Heisuke Mashimo. But it hardly gives that same level of attention to its main cast of misfits. So far, the audience has only gotten a few glimpses here and there of their lives before the Sakamoto Convenience Store. From Taro meeting the love of his life and Lu Shaotang reminiscing about her parents, the anime has explored the past of everyone except Shin. The latest episode looks to rectify the mistake. But who knew Shin's backstory would be the start of a dangerous new adventure?
