The Winds of Winter is taking way too long to be published, but George R.R. Martin gave us clues about what to expect in the upcoming novel through The Forsaken chapter that he released years ago. It was told from the perspective of Aeron Greyjoy, the brother of Euron Greyjoy.

What we could take from this chapter is how Euron became more menacing than before, and leagues more terrifying than his television counterpart. It’s an understatement to say that the Game of Thrones version was extremely disappointing. He was promising at the beginning of the series, but throughout the course of the story, he ended up becoming the unexpected comic relief.
