One of the breakout shows of 2025, Max's medical drama starring Noah Wyle, The Pitt, has enamored critics and audiences alike since early January. However, not everyone is in love with the latest drama, as the Michael Crichton estate alleges in a new lawsuit that the show is identical to an attempted remake of George Clooney's classic hospital series titled ER. The late author created the award-winning drama, which aired on NBC for 15 seasons from 1994 to 2009. Warner Bros. Discovery has now unsuccessfully attempted to get the case thrown away by the judge overseeing it.

As reported by The Wrap, Wbd failed to get the case between the company and Crichton's estate dismissed by the judge through the anti-slapp law.
