Scott M. Gimple Talks ‘Walking Dead’ Universe Expansion, Exploring a New Country, Daryl Dixon’s Story, and More

Scott M. Gimple is looking to take The Walking Dead universe even further across the globe. The franchise has already covered a lot of ground, starting in Atlanta before moving north to Virginia. Fear the Walking Dead explored the West Coast, while Dead City season 2 is sending Maggie and Negan back to New York. Daryl Dixon’s spinoff has already expanded the action to France, with Spain set to be the next stop for him and Carol.
But Europe might not be the only continent in The Walking Dead‘s future. Gimple, the chief content officer for the franchise, recently shared his thoughts on expanding the universe even more. Speaking at the Multicon LA Wildfire Benefit, he expressed a desire to bring the series to new locations, hinting that something fresh is already in the works:
“There’s one that we’re working on that I’m very, very excited...
